GFC PETSTRAND® Binder Yarn is used for binding of SZ-stranded optical fibers at high speed. They are available in Low Shrinkage (LS) and Ultra Low Shrinkage (ULS) versions.


With optical fiber cable designs becoming more and more compact, GFC supplies low shrinkage binder yarn as a standard. PETSTRAND® Binder Yarn can be supplied as dual-end versions. Two parallel yarns are pulled simultaneously resulting in increased process speeds up to 50%.

Shrinkage levels lower than 3% and Ultra levels as low as 0.50%.

Tube Sizes

5.04"x8.5" standard tube size as well as 3.5" x 7.0" and 3.7"x8.5".  All tubes can be slit for easy removal.
